Healthcare logistics startup Logistics Network, Inc. has hired Ben Muth, who previously worked at CVS Caremark.
Muth will be in charge of the company’s new Healthcare logistics team.
He joins Logistics Networks as a partner and will oversee a new product portfolio.
Mith is the CEO of Logistics Logistics Inc., a provider of logistics solutions for the healthcare industry.
Logistics will focus on logistics solutions and solutions for healthcare logistics operations.
Moth has been with Logistics for about four years.
“Ben Muth is an experienced leader in logistics and technology solutions, having led a variety of healthcare logistics companies over the last 10 years,” Logistics CEO Michael Schreiner said in a statement.
“Ben is excited to join the team, and we are looking forward to working together to provide our customers with superior logistics solutions.”
CVS Healthcare has been growing rapidly as it transitions from traditional pharmacy to a more modern delivery network.
The pharmacy chain has been testing a new delivery network that combines delivery vehicles and a network of robots with delivery drones, which can deliver a package on demand.
CVS plans to open a store in the New York City area in 2019.
Cleveland, Ohio-based CVS Health said in January that it plans to test a new network of delivery robots that will help to reduce time spent waiting for medication and reduce prescription overuse.
About half of all U.S. prescriptions are filled online, according to the U.K.-based think tank Policy Exchange.
The network has been designed to help lower costs and improve efficiency.
